Growth Groups

We want to be the Church, not a crowd!

Growth Groups (G2s) are at the very core of what we do. They are the place where real ministry occurs as we encourage, support and challenge one another while gathering around the Bible. God doesn’t want any of us to walk this spiritual journey alone – we need each other.

How Do Growth Groups Work?

A Growth Group, which is our name for a bible study group, is made up of around 10-15 people who meet weekly to study God’s Word, build relationships and serve others. Each group is led by a trained leader and host couple. A typical meeting lasts for about an hour and a half, covers a study based on the previous weekend’s sermon and includes light refreshments. Groups meet during three 10-week sessions a year (Fall, Winter and Spring), taking a break over summer.  Check out Growth Group FAQs for more info.

Growth Groups and Serving and Sharing

We believe God has called every person and every Growth Group (G2) at FBC to be involved in various Serve & Share (S2) opportunities.  To help groups accomplish this, every group has an S2 Liaison.  The S2 Liaison’s primary focus is to help your G2 get involved in serving others and sharing their faith.   If your group is looking for ways to serve, the church provides a list of opportunities to serve near, here, and far, on our website.  It is our hope that each G2 will participate in at least one S2 opportunity each session.  It is also our goal that each G2 will adopt one of FBC’s GO Workers. The S2 Liaison is the main point of contact with your group’s adopted GO Worker and reminds your group to pray for, encourage, and care for them in  practical ways.  To find out more, email our Growth Groups Ministry Assistant.

Growth Group Commitment

Growth Groups thrive on trust and participation! The purpose of this commitment is to help discuss and clarify each group’s goals, guidelines and expectations. A clear agreement is an important starting point towards a successfull group experience.
