Upward Sports Coordinator

About the Role

This community-oriented ministry connects families to our FBC Kids Ministry through basketball and soccer teams. They collaborate and seek guidance from the Kids Ministry Director to synergize community engagement, safety priorities, logistics, volunteer recruiting, team organization, and game preparations. This part-time position serves 20 hours a week during two seasons from July – October and December – March each year. The pay range will be between $17-18/hr.

 

The Upward Sports Coordinator is the subject matter expert for Upward Sports organization, logistics and game day coordination. They lead volunteers, coaches, and other team leaders as they welcome participants, guests, and volunteers with hospitality and address any concerns needed to inspire trust. They prepare fields, gyms, and equipment for games according to team needs and safety. They encourage the accountability of volunteers and support members to ensure the safety of our kids. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Thrives working with children in a sport’s setting
  • Passionate about providing a safe environment for kids
  • Previous ministry experience preferred as a volunteer or staff member
  • Experience with and a love for cultivating, supporting and empowering volunteers
  • Warm-hearted, servant leader who loves people
  • Strong organizational and technology skills
  • Aligns with FBC’s mission, vision, strategy, and doctrine
