Going to Online Services

Updated on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 9:00 p.m.

Dear FBC Family,

Amidst continuing concern about COVID-19, I want to give you an update about what we are doing at Foothills Bible Church to help our health officials combat the spread of this virus. The elders, staff, and I are continuing to stay mindful of the latest information and guidelines from our federal, state, county, and city officials.
This is a rapidly evolving situation and we are continuously discussing and weighing what’s best for our community and our church family.

On Friday, the Colorado governor asked all public gatherings be cancelled or postponed. In order to be a good neighbor and to care for the most vulnerable, we have decided to suspend our Sunday services on campus from March 15 through March 29. Instead we will provide an online worship and message. We are also suspending all gatherings on campus. We will be continually monitoring and evaluating during this time.

  • If you are alone and need help, we want to assist you. For example, if you need food or medication and can’t leave the house, we want to care for you.
  • If you are feeling increased fear or anxiety, we want to pray for you. Please inform our Care Ministry.

Starting this Sunday, March 15, we will broadcast a service at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. Service will include worship led by our FBC worship team and a timely uplifting message from me on the subject of Hope. This is a great opportunity for you and your healthy family and friends to gather together and BE the church. How awesome would it be, if hundreds of our people were gathering in homes to worship, pray, and study the Bible together?! Much like the book of Acts and the house church movements all over the world today, God has used house churches in incredible ways to expand the kingdom.

To watch the live stream, just click here to Watch Church Online through your browser on your computer, phone, or tablet. Be sure to get this set up a few minutes before 8:45 or 10:45 a.m. service times so you don’t miss a thing!

Foothills Bible Church is financially sustained purely through your giving. As we suspend gatherings, we encourage you to give through the following ways:

  • Giving online here
  • Give through the FBC app with the Give button
  • Mailing your offering to:
    Foothills Bible Church
    Attn: Finance
    6100 S. Devinney Way
    Littleton, CO 80127

If you have any questions related to giving, you can call or email Brad Smith at 303-567-7233 or bsmith@4fbc.org.

I know God is going to work through this. How? In many ways we can’t foresee! I know two things for sure: God will use us to comfort and help those who are hurting or fearful. And God will teach each of us some important new lessons.

As always, please pray for our local and national leadership as they lead us through this time. Pray for those who are impacted by this disease, for healing and comfort. Pray that people all over the world draw closer to God as they perceive their own mortality.

I’ll leave you with some Scripture that reminds me where to place my hope in troubling times:

  •  “In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.” Psalm 25:1
  •  “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life… Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:25a,27
  •  “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Trusting in Him,

Shawn Peterson
Lead Pastor
