KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Each day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:15 p.m. All preschoolers should be picked up at 12:00 p.m. Please be prompt in picking up your children as we have many volunteers who need to pick up their own kids as well.

Please put sunscreen on your child each day.

We encourage every child to eat a hearty, protein-packed breakfast each day. Light, pre-packaged snacks will be served as part of the VBS experience but the kids burn a lot of calories and we want them all to be happy and healthy! If you’ve discussed bringing an allergy alternative snack, please remember to drop that off with your child’s group guide.

Children can start bringing their crayon piggy banks with money inside for our local outreach project on Monday! If you have not picked one up yet, please pick one up on Sunday morning or any day of VBS.

Please keep your children home if they are experiencing any symptoms of sickness.

If you have not read the VBS Parent Handbook, please take a look at it here.

Thank you so much for your participation in our 2021 VBS program. We are so excited to spend the week celebrating Jesus!

Preschool
  • Preschool children will be checked in at the lower level of the main church building.
  • Please print nametags for your child at the computer stations located throughout the lower level lobby and then take the child directly to their classrooms.
  • The TV monitors and large signs throughout the area will have your child’s age/color group and will direct you to the correct room.
  • You will be required to have the coordinating pick-up tag when you come to retrieve your children at the end of each day.
  • If someone else will be picking up your child, then you must sign the pick-up tag, write the name of the person who will be picking up your child on the tag, and leave it with a staff person at the desk in the lower lobby.  Photo ID’s will be checked upon pick-up.
Elementary children (K - 3rd grade)
  • Elementary children (Kindergarten – 3rd grade) will check in with their groups in the main auditorium in the upper level of the main church building.
  • The TV monitors with your child’s age/color group will be posted as you enter the main upper lobby and the group guides will be in the main auditorium with coordinating signs.
  • Please locate your child’s group guide and sign them in on the roster with the group guide.
  • All kids must have a parent/guardian sign them out with the group guide at the end of each day.
VBX children (4th - 6th grade)
  • VBX children (4th – 6th grade) will check in with their groups at The SHED lawn which is the building past the main church building.
  • VBS crew members will have rosters of your child’s grade/color group and help guide them to their correct group.
  • Parents are welcome to check them in and out at the car with a VBS Crew Member or walk them to the lawn to check them in and out.
  • Please choose which you feel most comfortable with and communicate that with your student.

VBS COMMUNITY PROJECT

Every year at VBS, we choose a community project to work toward together. This year we are partnering with the Denver Street School to bring hope, a second chance, and the love of Christ to Denver’s at-risk youth.  The Denver Street School is a high school and, at its core, an “alternative family” to students who are struggling.  Some of their students have no family structure at all and this instability has led to the students facing academic and social/emotional issues that the big public schools have not been able to address.  So, these students come to the Denver Street School.  This year at VBS we are collecting money to give to Denver Street School.  Pick up a crayon piggy bank at FBC, fill it with money, and return it any day of VBS!

Children can start bringing their crayon piggy banks with money inside for our local outreach project on Monday! If you have not picked one up yet, please pick one up on Sunday morning or any day of VBS.
