The First Principles Series is a set of 13 , six-session Bible study guides for use with small groups. Rather than a mere fill-in-the-blank approach, the series employs a highly effective study method using readings, personal reflection, group interaction, and projects.
Teaching the core principles of Christ and His Apostles, the series systematically leads participants toward becoming firmly established in their faith and on to a deeper commitment to follow Christ for a lifetime.
This summer we will offer two studies back to back:
This class will be taught by Pastor Don McReavy and will be held at 9am on Sunday mornings May 20 - August 19 in the Aspen Room. Register in the church Lobby at the "Compass" table between services. You may also register at the church office M-F 8-5.
Course Objective
Becoming a Disciple: First Principles of the Faith is a six week study in a series of studies called "The First Principles." This study is designed to take you through a simple process of examining the Bible for yourself and carefully thinking through what it means to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. It is also designed to bring you to a point of commitment, of fully embracing the faith-the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Following Becoming a Disciple we will continue in studying Belonging to a Family of Families: First Principles of Community Life. In this six week study, we are going to look at the local church as a family of families. This is God's design for His disciples-to become part of a family of believers, a local church family.
Course Objective
Living in God's Household is a five week study of the Pastoral Epistles (1 & 2 Timothy and Titus) in a series of studies called "The First Principles." Following this study we will continue in studying the First Principles Leaders Guide. This study will equip you specifically to teach the First Principles Series, in a small group or one on one with others, including your own teenage son or daughter.
