Rather than merely offering a variety of electives, Compass Ministries seeks to identify and impart core truths vital to every Christian's walk with Christ.
The renewal of our minds by these truths, taught by some of the best teachers in our church, will lead you to a transformed life that will glorify God and serve His purposes.
Compass Ministries provides Leadership Classes designed to assist you in your lifelong spiritual development as a good servant of Jesus Christ.
The Leadership Classes are offered in the fall, spring and summer.
A special leadership class for men interested in learning more about church leadership will be offered this fall. For more information, click here.
In 1 Timothy 4:6-16 Paul wrote of three requirements for a good servant of Jesus Christ. He was to be committed to...
His growth was to be comprehensive, including knowledge of the Scriptures, godly character and ministry skills. It was also to be lifelong, in that after years of learning, Timothy was still to be constantly nourishing himself by the Scriptures, demonstrating progress that would be evident to all.
He was to be faithful in his service, both in his teaching of God's Word as well as his modeling of godly living, in ways that would result in building up the church.
He was to discipline himself - laboring, striving, taking pains and paying close attention to himself and to his teaching - in ways that would enable his spiritual development to take place and his spiritual duties to be fulfilled. The stakes were high-insuring salvation for himself and for those who would hear him.
The requirements for being a good servant of Jesus Christ today have not changed.
The Core classes and the 1st Principles Series together lay a strong foundation upon which a leader can build his life and service to Christ and His church as he pursues further study.
A portfolio contains a record of one's past education, work and ministry experience as well as thoughts concerning the future. It can help a leader assess his progress thus far as well as chart a course for the years ahead. Central to the portfolio is a record of classes one has participated in.
A mentor or coach is assigned to assist and encourage the leader in the pursuit of his spiritual development, spiritual duties, and spiritual discipline.
