Beyond the Walls is a Christian team-based ministry designed to meet the short and long-term needs of disabled and distressed members (such as widows, single parents, military wives and the elderly) in our community.
We would like to find volunteers at Foothills Bible Church to form teams for Beyond the Walls ministry to help those mentioned above here at Foothills Bible Church.
Our Goals are:
~On an ongoing basis, Beyond the Walls deploys people, both men and women in service teams to help others in need.
~Beyond the Walls service teams will reveal the love of Jesus to disabled and distressed member of Foothills Bible Church or our community in a practical way by helping them with basic maintenance, repairs and projects around their home.
~As these teams of volunteers pray together, work together, and encourage each other, they will build lasting relationships among themselves and the people they serve.
Beyond the Walls realizes that a volunteer’s time is valuable and limited. Each person is asked to donate only three hours of time on one Saturday morning once a month. A service team is normally comprised of four or five volunteers, so that it can still function if one person misses on a given Saturday. On a pre-scheduled day, each service team will have a short devotional meeting at a designated location before it goes to care receiver’s home. This meeting will provide an opportunity for devotions, fellowship, task identification, and task assignments.
Volunteers that are interested will go through training before they are given a care receiver to serve. Our first Orientation/Training will on Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Aspen room. If you are interested in attending or have any questions please contact us.
