Adult Recreation - Mission and Vision

MISSION STATEMENT
The FBC Recreation Ministry exists to use recreation as a medium for sharing the good news of the gospel to the unsaved in our community by:

  • Exhibiting the love of Christ in word, deed and attitude;
  • Praying for and with each other;
  • Encouraging excellence in and out of sport;
  • Conversing in a pure and godly manner; and
  • Proclaiming the gospel of Christ

VISION STATEMENT
Our goal for the FBC Recreation Ministry is to involve the Foothills Family in evangelism through:

  1. Providing a forum from which the gospel is shared from both verbal and non-verbal interaction between the FBC Athlete and the unsaved community.
  2. Directing those whom the gospel has penetrated into a loving and nurturing community of believers for further discipleship and growth.
  3. Fostering a Christ-centered atmosphere where fellowship, encouragement, and competition flourish.

Empty Nester Outdoor Recreation Group

A new recreation group has started for those “empty nesters” interested in Christian fellowship and fitness in Colorado’s great outdoors.  The target group is age 45-65, with activities including hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and more. 

Join us this fall and enjoy the cooler tempuratures and wonderful views! We usually have 2 events per month, on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. Click here for the fall schedule and all the details. See you on the trail!

Men's Golf League

If anyone is interested in organizing and running a men’s golf league, contact Pete Simonson at pksimonson@comcast.net or 303-762-9144.

Motorcycle Ministry

The participants of the Motocycle Ministry gather regularly for prayer, fellowship and group rides.  They sponsor regularly-scheduled blood drives and participate in outreach events and activities throughout the year.

Basketball

Drop-in games every Thursday in the SHED gym at 7:00 p.m.  This is a less competitive time of fellowship at no cost.

Volleyball

Volleyball is played year round on Mondays at 7:00 p.m.  Come to the SHED gym, this is not a league, there is no cost to play. Drop ins welcome.

Softball

Adult Summer Softball starts the beginning of May.  Last year we fielded three Men’s and three Coed teams.  For more information, please contact Paul Gregorio (in the box above).
